At Handelskade we are developing a new generation of compact oil and chemical tankers in the range of 3,500 – 6,000 DWT.

While the maritime industry is accelerating towards lower emissions and higher efficiency, a large part of the smaller tanker fleet is ageing rapidly. Many vessels currently operating in this segment were designed long before today’s energy transition and upcoming environmental regulations.

We believe the next generation of tankers should not be built around a single fuel solution, but around flexibility.

A key element of the design is the forward accommodation arrangement. By relocating the accommodation and bridge to the forepart of the vessel, valuable space is created for modular energy systems above the engine room.

This allows shipowners to adapt the vessel throughout its operational lifetime as new technologies, fuels and regulations develop without fundamentally redesigning the vessel.

The hull platform ranges from approximately 90 to 110 metres in length with a beam of 13.60 metres and can be adapted to specific cargo and operational requirements
